Mary Fedden O.B.E., R.A., L.G.

Mary Fedden was born in 1915 and studied at the Slade School of Art, London. During the war she painted murals for propaganda exhibitions and at night painted sets at the Arts Theatre in Great Newport Street. After the war Mary began to paint full time also helping with more sets at the Arts Theatre. She married Julian Trevelyan in 1951, their lives were devoted to painting and travel. After Julian died in 1988 Mary continued to live and work at Durham Wharf. She was elected to the Royal Academy in 1992 and was later awarded the O.B.E. Her work is in collections all over the world and includes:
