John Kingsley was born in Glasgow and studied drawing and painting at The Glasgow School of Art from 1973 - 1977.

He has held One Man Shows from 1987 both in Scotland and England and exhibited in selected group Shows at The Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal Glasgow Institute, The Royal Scottish Society for Painters in Watercolour and The Paisley Art Institute.
