Richard Pikesley was born in London in 1951 and trained at Canterbury College of Art from 1970 to 1973 and University of London from 1973 to 1974. He has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition since 1974 and also the New English Art Club where he serves on the Executive Committee. He was elected a full member of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours in 2000. Richard exhibits both in the United Kingdom and overseas including America and Canada. He has received numerous awards, written books and is a regular contributor to art magazines. His work is represented in many collections including:
