VANESSA POOLEY F.R.B.S.Title: Mother and Child Medium: Bronze Edition No: 12/19 Height: 8 inches Vanessa Pooley's individualistic sculptures of curvaceous women have been widely admired and sort after by an increasingly appreciative audience. Married to an art therapist and with two young children she now lives and works in an old family home in Norwich. Her first Exhibition was held in Southwark Cathedral in 1981 and its success launched her career as a sculptor. Influences early on were Henri Laurens and later Fernando Botero and Marino Marini. Unlike them, Vanessa is obsessed solely by the female form and sculpts nothing else. Her simple forms of curvaceous and voluptuous women are both sensual and tactile and have immediate appeal.
